I saw lucky enough to have seen Eartha Kitt in performance three times. The first time was at the Cafe Carlyle sometime in the 90s. The highlight of that performance was her revelatory, blazing performance of "I Will Survive." But the song that I think of even more often is this one, because it's so bizarre. She told the story about doing a tour of Japan and a friend took her to see a local singer who did Eartha Kitt and Rosemary Clooney songs in Japanese.
