One of the big winners at the 1986 Grammys was "That's What Friends Are For." Here's my pairing:
Diva: Elton John, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder
Mensch: Dionne Warwick
That assessment is based on their vocal stylings in the recording. Dionne is warm and intimate, the other three are about display. But then that case is complicated by the fact that the artists on the recording are listed as "Dionne Warwick & Friends." Which is a diva move on Dionne's part. So I don't know what to believe.
