The Best Supporting Actress winner for 1968 was Ruth Gordon for *Rosemary's Baby.* I've seen that movie at least ten times and it gets better every time I see it. It's genius, and Gordon's performance is one of the highlights.
One of the other nominees was Kay Medford, playing Fanny Brice's mother in *Funny Girl.* She's the tall woman at the end of the clip who really relates to Streisand. She's touching in this clip, a nice counterpoint to the overblown shtick of the other ladies.
Diva: Ruth Gordon
Mensch: Kay Medford
As a bonus, I'm including Gordon's acceptance speech, one of the cutest ones ever.
