Jimmy Carter died yesterday at the age of 100. I often have heard him referred to as the President who made the biggest impact after he left office, in his work with Habitat for Humanity and participating in election oversight around the world. Here's a 60 Minutes interview from 2010:
English actress Olivia Hussey died last week at the age of 73. She's best known for playing Juliet in the overblown Zefferelli movie of Romeo and Juliet, a smash hit at the time. Here's her cozy morning after love scene with Leonard Whiting:
Linda Lavin died yesterday at the age of 87. She's best known for playing the title character on Alice from 1976 to 1985. I liked that show a lot and was thrilled to see her onstage when I moved to New York. Here's a highlight reel from the best of those shows, The Lyons.
And Spanish actress Marisa Paredes died a couple weeks ago at the age of 78. She played the grand actress in Almodóvar’s masterpiece All About My Mother. This is the best clip I could find on YouTube, she's the one on the left.
