I'd never gotten so many alerts in such a short amount of time! First my brother Howard at 1:24pm, then Stephanie at 1:27pm, then Michelle at 1:31pm! They all knew I was a fan and this would be major.
Paul Reubens is better known as Pee-wee Herman. He died yesterday at 70 after what Variety calls "a private bout of cancer."
Is it possible that *Pee-wee's Playhouse* is one of the greatest TV shows of all time? I remember reading at the time that it was maybe the only Saturday morning show in history where kids had to fight their parents for the best seat in front of the TV.
I feel so lucky to have seen *The Pee-wee Herman Show* on Broadway in 2010. It was hilarious and Reubens was adorable. Did you see the made for Netflix movie *Pee-wee's Big Holiday* with Joe Manganiello? It was very sweet. It took me a few minutes to get used to seeing little boy Pee-wee played by a man in his 60s, but Reubens's skill and overwhelming charm won me over.
