CDA: Jean-Louis Trintignant

Writer's picture: ladiesvoicesladiesvoices

The great French film actor Jean-Louis Trintignant died the other day at the age of 91. My first exposure to him was in the magical 1966 movie *A Man and a Woman.* God bless Milwaukee Public Television for running that movie when I was in high school. I taped it (remember videotape?) and watched it over and over. And bought the soundtrack LP (remember LPs?) and played it over and over.

Here's a preview for the 50th anniversary re-release of *A Man and a Woman,* starring him and Anouk Aimée.

And then late in his career the great Austrian filmmaker cast him and Emmanuelle Riva in *Amour,* a startling drama.
