A true trailblazer! Thank you to my dear David Jay for breaking the news to me. She was something else, yes? She had many firsts, but the one that I find most interesting is that she was the first African-American actor to replace a European-American actor in a Broadway play, as the psychiatrist in *Agnes of God.*
