My thanks to Everett Nelson for encouraging me to do an I. M. Pei tribute. Here's a cute 60 Minutes piece from 1987, when he was designing the pyramid entrance to the Louvre. What a treat to see Diane Sawyer back then:
And I didn't know the name Machiko Kyô, but I certainly know her work. She's the female lead in Kurosawa's *Rashomon,* one of the most essential movies ever made. Toshirô Mifune steals the movie with his forceful performance, but Kyô is the emotional core of the story, and steals the movie BACK with a twist at the end.
