Fabulous Friday: "Summertime"

The next song discussed in *Stardust Melodies* is "Summertime" from *Porgy and Bess,* music by George Gershwin and lyrics by Ira Gershwin. I know DuBose Heyward shared credit with Ira for the libretto to the opera, but did he co-write the words to this song? My guess is no.

Wikipedia says there are over 25,000 recordings of "Summertime." I made a CD last summer (or was it the summer before?) of 16 of them, I made it for my dear friends Martha Fischer and Bill Lutes. I'll feature all 16 of those recordings here! Listen to any, or all, or none!
