I loved composer Michel Legrand even before I knew his name - - we studied *The Umbrellas of Cherbourg* in my high school French class, and I went coo coo nutty for this glorious score. Two songs from the movie became pseudo hits here in the U. S., in an English translation: "I Will Wait For You" and "Watch What Happens."
