I don't know how I became a fan of Lena Horne, but I was from a very young age. Her Christmas album, *Merry From Lena,* was one of my favorites, I think I got it from the Columbia Record Club. Her recording of "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" was the first I ever heard of that song. It's more closely associated with the late Nancy Wilson, but I like Lena's version better.
