My brother Howard Ryan and I are collaborating on a piece for the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival. The piece is called "Shove On, Siôbhan" and is part of Howard's ongoing Snickers project (which has been getting dazzling reviews from the movers and shakers in the experimental music world).

Our piece is scored for radio, Howard playing (and processing) the viola, Howard singing (and processing his vocals), viola soloist Charith Premawardhana, and viola ensemble. A fascinating mixture of electronic and acoustic instruments.

The performance is on Saturday 9/9 at 4 PM, at Adobe Books and Arts Cooperative, 3130 24th St in San Francisco. Howard conceived of this piece as being site-specific for his beloved Adobe. It’s free, and it’s sure to be memorable!
